I found a website that is basically an enrollment site for video progammers. It deals with C++ but the reason why I liked it so much was because it shows a lot of examples of people’s work, and what kinds of things can be done through C++ in the gaming world. It also shows examples of 3D games, robotics, video console, and others.

I came across an interview with James Gosling (Inventor of Java), as he talks about Microsoft’s C# and what his thoughts are on it, along with comparing it a little bit to Java. I just found this website slightly interesting and hopefully you will to.

They may. I mean, I’m sure there’re people looking at what it will take. It’s hard to tell how these things go. The important thing is to come up with a common set of APIs (application programming interfaces). We’ve been working on APIs for the last year and a half. It would have been nice if IBM had actually joined into our open-source effort that’s been going on for a very long time.

C# programming

I had a little bit of trouble with my homework assignment this week that dealt with taking two instances from the onPaint method and setting each one specifically to a single mouse click & a double mouse click. Another option was to set one instance to the right mouse click and the other to the left mouse click. I don’t know if one is easier than the other when getting it to work in a program? Is there a major comparison in trying to get either of these options to work?

Hacking Win. XP

I was searching on Digg and found a site that shows a tutorial on how to bypass a Windows XP password without using any programs. This guy changes his password through the command (cmd). I knew how to do this, but I always have a lot of people ask me how to do it because they have no clue, so I thought it was pretty cool to see something like this on the web.

Is Linux To Fast, Too Furious?

Linus has been going crazy with Linux and its production of new items. People have been wondering if this has been to fast or if he’s doing what he has to do to survive. Here’s a couple reasons straight from the site, explaining exactly why he can’t slow down.

”Yet Torvalds can’t let off the gas, for two reasons. First, Linux can’t afford to fall behind technically, or it’ll lose ever-demanding business users. The new kernel, for example, has hooks to take advantage of the latest virtualization capabilities embedded in Intel and Advanced Micro Devices processors. Second, Linux needs to feed its developer community. New features keep coders from getting bored and moving on to other projects, and they attract new talent as coders age or drop out of the process.”

I came across this website and found it to be pretty interesting, because most OS like Microsoft and others, take their time in getting out new products, and Linux is completetly the opposite. Do you think that having Linux an open source has anything to do with Linux being forced to move as fast as it does?

This website just talks a little bit on how linux programmers are trying to make a new tickless kernel that will have a processor which works in a lower power state. They are trying to do this by using a software called, PowerTop, which allows for a user to find out which software runs at high alert and others that don’t. In recent years, chipmakers have given microprocessors the ability to drop down into lower-power states when they don’t need to run full throttle. The chip’s internal frequency slows, voltage levels drop, and electrical consumption tapers down.

Ok, here’s some news for all you java freaks out there. There is a new Java 2 Platform out there that includes a series of enhancments in their software, development tools, and a few other features. This program is the J2SE, code-name Tiger. Java 2 comes in a standard edition and a micro edition for servers and handhelds. The website also talks about…”Tiger is also intended to make Java applications easier to monitor and manage, once they are operating and perform better. Also, one feature allows a programmer to add information, called metadata, to bodies of code.” Although I’m not very big into programming, I still found this to be pretty interesting.
